Los sensores Clase I suelen costar el doble o triple comparados con un anemómetro económico como el MAX40; sin embargo, la exactitud en las mediciones por ellos proporcionadas (tanto en vientos de flujo laminar estándar como en ambientes turbulentos) permiten disminuir en gran medida la incertidumbre de los proyectos así como acertar en el cálculo de tipo de generador a instalar en el emplazamiento. De éste modo, la inversión inicial en anemos de alta gama es más que recompensada posteriormente con los ahorros que genera para el developer.
